Of our two prescription skincare treatments, it can be difficult to decide which treatment is right for you. First, it’s important to know what skin concerns you want to address. Then, you can decide which treatment best suits your needs, or if you should use both treatments!
Today, we wanted to take a deeper dive into our tretinoin treatment, The Anti-Aging Night Cream. Those who use The Anti-Aging Night Cream have consistently reported improvements in skin tone, including diminished wrinkles and dark spots!
What is Tretinoin?
Tretinoin, a retinoid, is a topical prescription medication that is derived from Vitamin A. Its non-prescription counterparts are retinols, which are a weaker form of retinoid. Tretinoin causes skin cells to turn over more rapidly—faster than any of the retinol products you can find at your local beauty supply!
What result can I expect to see?
Okay, so tretinoin replaces skin cells faster. What’s the big deal? Studies dating back to the 80’s have confirmed tretinoin’s anti-aging effects! Say goodbye to your wrinkles and say hello to younger skin. In 1988, doctors conducted a study which showed that 100% (!!) of patients showed statistically significant improvement in skin tone and texture after 16 weeks of daily tretinoin use. In addition, tretinoin shrinks enlarged pores and improves cell turnover within the pores, which means they are less likely to clog and become blackheads and whiteheads!
And the best part is... results get better with long term use. Results from tretinoin start to appear after approximately 60 days of daily use, with more obvious results occurring after six months to one year. It's important to remember that tretinoin is designed as a long-term treatment, not a quick fix!
Please remember tretinoin makes your skin more susceptible to sunburns, so make sure to apply SPF everyday.
