Happy National Sunscreen Day!

Did you know that skin cancer organizations and researchers have declared the Friday before Memorial Weekend a fundamental time for sun safety awareness? As summer approaches, this warmer weather makes sunscreen a must-have. National Sunscreen Day is May 28th, but we celebrate it everyday!
Common causes of wrinkles and dark spots are from sun exposure, which is why it’s important to be protected with sunscreen (SPF 30+). There are two types of sunscreen: chemical and mineral.
Chemical sunscreens
- Absorb UV rays, convert them into heat, & release heat from skin
- Can worsen melasma when heat is released
- Must be applied at least 20 minutes before sun exposure
- Reapply every 2 hours
- Contains chemicals such as oxybenzone, avobenzone, octisalate, octocrylene, homosalate, or octinoxate.
Mineral sunscreens
- Form a protective barrier on the skin to reflect UV rays before they come in contact with the skin’s surface
- Ideal for people with sensitive skin or melasma
- Effective immediately after application
- Reapply every 2 hours
- Contains zinc oxide & titanium dioxide (only FDA approved ingredients in sunscreen)

The Day Cream is a mineral-based, moisturizing sunscreen with SPF 50 that keeps your skin hydrated and protected from the sun. Containing titanium dioxide and zinc oxide, this clinical formulation is proven to reduce redness in vascular melasma and rosacea.

How to Apply: Apply half a teaspoon of The Day Cream to the face and neck areas. Rub it in thoroughly for adequate coverage. Remember to reapply every 2 hours when outside!
Enjoy National Sunscreen Day with The Day Cream by your side!
